Jasper National Park

Throughout our five days in the area, Jasper held back absolutely nothing. Between wildlife, mountain vistas, challenging hikes, striking glacial lakes, and world-class people, Jasper National Park delivered every single day.

Lucky enough to snag a room with the inspiring owners of Bear’s Den*, we used their beautiful home as a base camp and their endless knowledge of the area as gospel for our exploration of the park. We were never led astray, finding incredible views around every corner. We journeyed below Mt. Edith Cavell and her glaciers, followed the ridgeline on Bald Hills to gorgeous views of Maligne Lake and the protruding spine of the mountain range beside it, hiked with big-horned sheep at Wilcox Pass, marveled at roadside glaciers, and wandered along the impressive Athabasca and Sunwapta Falls. Though we covered a lot of ground during our stay, we loved every minute of our time in Jasper National Park and already have plans to return!

*Jasper Bound? If you’re considering a trip to Jasper, waste no time in reserving one of the suites at Bear’s Den. Gerry and Lydia are generous, knowledgeable, and unbelievably kind-hearted. We are beyond grateful and can’t recommend them highly enough!
